Meghan & Jay: Wedding

You'll recognize Meghan and Jay from their engagement session that we shot in Newburyport a few weeks ago...just before their wedding. The ceremony took place on the Newburyport waterfront and the reception was held at the stately Phoenix Room, just a few stories above Newburyport's historic streets. We also made a quick run out to Plum Island for some serene beach shots. Plus, I had the pleasure of working with my amazing wife Linnea, who once again did an unbelievable job planning the entire day!

Meghan and Jay are such a fun couple and you can see the love and excitement that they share in every image! We even duplicated the shot of them kissing under the "Fowles" sign that we also did for their engagement session. Fun!

My new Canon 5D!

My camera bag now includes one of the best cameras a wedding photographer could wish for....the Canon 5D. My goal this year was to work hard enough to purchase this beauty by mid-summer and I'm so proud to have accomplished that goal. What's my next goal you ask? ...to buy a second 5D by the end of September. :)

As you can see from this photo I snapped tonight, cameras have come a long way in the last 40 years. That's one of the Kodaks from my collection of classic cameras. Maybe one day I'll blog about them all.

Meghan & Jay: Engagement

I had such a great time shooting Meghan and Jay's engagement session...just one week before their wedding! They wanted an image to use for their signature board at the reception.

The photo they ultimately chose was the one of them sitting and kissing with the dogs in the foreground. Ironically, that same exact spot is where they stood one week later and said their vows! I just shot their wedding and will be posting photos soon! Stay tuned....

Fishing Trip 2008

It's become a tradition for the 4 of us. Every summer for the last 15 years we get together for a fishing trip up at Mountaineer Lake in the Catskill Mountains of New York. There's me, my two best friends, Russ & Todd, and Todd's father Glenn.

Mohawk Lake is privately owned by the Mountaineer Club, of which Todd, Russ, & Glenn are members. Which means we have the WHOLE lake to ourselves. It's an amazing feeling to be so close to nature...bald eagles soaring overhead, giant snapping turtles swimming under your boat, dragon flies landing on your line, and deer drinking at the shoreline. There's a peacefulness that I don't experience anywhere else in the world. At night you can see more stars then you could ever imagine and there's a quiet that is just deafening. I never sleep as well as I do when I'm up at "camp".

I only had my point & shoot, but I think that you'll enjoy these.

P.S. The plate of food you see two photos above is our homemade version of a garbage plate. We all went to college at RIT in Rochester and spent many weekend nights at Nick Tahou's!
